Compositional improvisation updates the traditional discipline of silent-film accompaniment, adding an angle of contemporary classical music to live improvised film accompaniment. Such accompaniment is becoming popular (https://acmusic.org/attend/concerts/sound-silent-film-festival
) both with older silents and new silents.

The melodies of Maurice Ravel are particularly appropriate for this film, as the sensibility of sophistication disguised as innocence is present in both Melies and Ravel–after all, they were contemporaries.***************Parma Recordings (http://www.parmarecordings.com/) licenses my written work for film as well:
